It's Christmas Time at Vicki's Candles and Melts..

I've been very fond of the creations and scents from Vicki's Candles and Melts, they are by far my favourite candle company to order from.

I am a huge bakery and herbal scent fan and I have found some amazing favourites.  Here are some photos of my latest order :)

Visit www.vickiscandlesandmelts.com.au

(from lef) Sugared Spruce, Joyeux Noel,
Nag Champa, Midsummer Night and Juniper Breeze
Melts

Sugared Spruce
This candle is topped with delicious Vanilla Crunch scented
wax, holly and a sprinkle of cinnamon.  This smells amazing,
when I start to burn it more I will be able to get the true scent of the
spruce however it's a nice balance of a clean pine and
creamy cinnamon.

Joyeux Noel
A warm inviting bouquet of vanilla beans, cinnamon, coconut and cassia.
The most apparent scent in this candle is the cinnamon and vanilla beans with
an undertone of coconut.  A must have for bakery scent fans!

Juniper Breeze
A fresh evergreen with notes of delicate jasmine and rose petals,
enhanced with subtle notes of apples and peaches.
Uplifting and invigorating.  I never would have thought that
floral and fruits would compliment each other but I have taken a huge liking
to this scent.  It's floral but with an after note of fresh peach and almost
a clean laundry scent.  Great summer scent!

Midsummer Night
A masculine scent similar to Drakkar that is very clean and uplifting.
The first thing I thought when I smelt this was an aftershave my
dad used.  It's definitely a rich cologne scent, and a great one for someone who
loves spicy, masculine colognes.  To me, it has an under tone of the
Rexona deoderant for guys as well, so it's a fresh clean scent.

Nag Champa
An exotic bouquet of sandalwood, champa flowers, violet and clove delicately blended with sensual amber, ylang ylang, patchouli and musk.
A calming fragrance.  This is my favourite scent of the melts I received.
I love anything herbal and incense like, so this is a beautiful blend.

Planet Yum? Yes Please!

Shortly after I found this website, I placed an order as I couldn't wait to try these!  After seeing gurus on YouTube talk about Naked Desert; an American website that stock delicious scented bath and body products, I couldn't help but wonder if there was a similar website available in Australia!

Planet Yum's products are extremely affordable, ($5.00 bath bombs compared to LUSH's $6-7 price range) come in a huge range of scents and are suitable for kids as well.  They stock bath, body and skincare items and their items are natural based.  One of the important aspects as well is their customer service.  I regularly kept in contacted with the company via emails and was very impressed with their friendly service.

You can find great gifts for women, men and kids.  I cannot wait to purchase more because I found it so hard to choose; they're all amazing!

This green clay mask is suitable for oily sensitive skin, as it's pure clay.  Although my face started to sting with the oil serum it only contains lemongrass oil and jojoba oil.  I just use the clay for the mask to draw out extra oils but have been using the oil in my oil burner, it's a really zesty citrus note!

Their famous Cupcake Soaps.
These are such a work of art and are all handmade in
Australia.  This soap is called Fairy Dust;  Fairy Dust cupcake soap is a magical creation of stars and glittering magic dust sprinkled lovingly by the Queen of the Fairies herself.  With its enchanting fragrance, this little cupcake soap is a real favourite of little girls who like to chat with the fairies at the bottom of the garden, or anyone who needs a little fantasy to make life more colourful.
Energy Bomb- (All bath bombs are only $5.00!) Yum bath of stimulating Citrus, Grapefruit, Lemon & Lime, fresh Cucumber and Jasmine, and a touch of Pineapple, Blackberry and Champagne.  A light fruity and sweet fragrance.

Rock Pool BombSwim in delightful and effervescent bubbles of the fizzing ocean spa fragrances in Planet Yum Rock Pool Bath Bomb.  With powerfully relaxing and healing sea salts you've never felt more relaxed and rejuvenated.  This has a light powdery scent, perfect for any occasion.

Good Karma Bomb- slight herbal scent.   If you don't like bombs that have a strong scent this is nice and calming.

Juicy Bomb- strong fruit punch like scent, similar to a lollipop!tangy top notes of Japanese Grapefruit, Crisp Apple and Pomelo Juicy bursts with a bright and cheery fizz.
Tranquil Bomb- evokes the nurturing lush rainforest green and fresh ozone breezes that restore you on the deepest levels. We give you delicate muguet lily, purple rose of a deep forest sunset and enchanting jasmine to uplift & refresh.  The earthy sweetness of violet leaf grounding you with its base of sandalwood and vanillary tonka bean leaves you totally tranquil.  This is one of my favourites of the bunch.

Lemongrass & Sandalwood Bomb-uplifting earthy scent that totally relaxes you.   My brother likes the scent of this  so it'ssuitable for men too!

I am a huge fan of herbal scented soaps and this definitely passes the test, takes me back to the soaps my grandmother brought me back from Fiji; rich coco nut with cinnamon and almond.

Outback Scrub Soap- Look how amazing this soap is! Infused with coconut, shea and coco butters and pumice.

My Top 10 Nude Lipsticks for Indian/Tan Skin

Nude lipsticks are my favourite but sometime it can be hard finding shades that aren't too pink based/light for darker skin.  Here are swatches/reviews of my top 10, enjoy :)

Left to right: ChiChi Shop A Holic, Maybeline Satin Collection 741 Silky Beige, Benefit Thrillin' Brazilian, Maybelline Color Sensational 265 Autumn Rush, Bare Minerals Butter Pecan, Coral Colours 872 Serenity, Prestige 61A Sand, Nars Corinthe, Maybelline Color Sensational 305 Copper Charm, Nyx 573 Stone.

ChiChi Shop a Holic is a matte spicy red brown shade.  This is definitely darker than my natural lip colour  but it's wearable for night time.  This is extremely pigmented.

Maybelline's Silky Beige is a really creamy formula with a satin finish.  Although it's a nude, it has a slighty pinky undertone like most maybelline colours.  I purchased this a while ago, apart from the Color Sensational range, I found it really hard to find Maybelline colours that weren't too pink based.

Benefit's Thrillin' Brazilian has a tone of golden shimmer, perfect for a summer lip.  If you don't have a benefit counter near you (also stocked in Myer) there are a few dupes of this shade in the top ten below.

Maybelline Autumn Rush is a slight satin finish, a perfect fall rosy nude.  This shade is almost identical to ChiChi's Shop a Holic, but Chichi is definitely more pigmented and slightly darker.  This shade will look great on any skintone.

Bare Minerals' Butter Pecan is 100% mineral based, without no chemicals or additives.  This is very similar to Maybelline's Copper Charm (mentioned below)  but Butter Pecan is a darker shade. Great summer lip shade too with golden shimmer!

As you can see, I have loved this lipstick a lot! It's slightly darker than my natural lip but because it's matte it gives a 'your lip but better' shade.  Very similar to ChiChi Shop a Holic.

I can find it very hard to find nude colours that suit my skin because so many have pink undertones.  However I found with Prestige's Sand, it's is a great pink based nude because it's a dark shade.  It's also matte which I'm a huge fan of.

Nars Corinthe is my all time favourite nude shade.  The colour is perfect and really matches my skin tone.  I just really wish this was either a satin or matte finish.  Because it's a sheer you really have to apply a few generous coats.

Maybelline's Copper Charm is a shimmery golden brown.  Also a top 3 favourite.  Opt for a shimmer with gold undertone than a frost.  Similar to Benefit's Thrillin Brazilian.

Lastly Nyx Stone is the darkest of the nudes.  This matte shade looks great with a smoky eye as it's a matte deep brown nude.  Has a slight plum undertone.

                 Flash;
1. ChiChi Shop a holic
2. Maybelline
3. Benefit Thillin' Brazilian
4. Maybelline Autumn Rush
5. Bare Minerals Butter Pecan
6. Coral Colours Serenity
7. Prestige Sand
8. NARS Corinthe

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, if you have other shades to add, please do!

Welcome :)

Thank you very much for visiting my new blog!

As some of you may know, I previously had a YouTube account where I posted videos about fashion, beauty and organic skincare.

My aim in this blog is to continue to inform others about some current products I have been liking, provide reviews and also upload good quality swatches.  I am also thinking of uploading small blogs on generally anything that I have been up to in general.  I like recommending items that I have found useful in the past and I hope that you will be able to find some new and excited goodies also :)

Thanks again and I hope that you will join me again in the near future,

Love, Sonia xo

PS.  As for YouTube, I will still be creating make up tutorials for Crush Cosmetics; a cosmetic company that supplies a wide range of international stock.  Definitely a staple in my online shopping!  They have just added a new cosmetic brand to their site, Eyeko!
